The fourth annual National High School Musical Theater Awards will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. The program is the year-end culmination of high school awards programs held by dozens of professional theater organizations around the country. One thousand high schools and 50,000 teenagers nationwide compete in the program annually. Students who win lead actor and actress awards at their regional high school musical theater awards competitions convene in New York City for five days of private coaching and rehearsals at the New Studio on Broadway, NYU Tisch School of the Arts Department of Drama, in preparation for their Broadway Debut at The Jimmy Awards. This year 60 contestants will compete for the grand prize.
