A Killer (Slumber) Party

Nothing’s quite the same as the pajama game, so grab your jammies for this interactive murder mystery recap show. Aladdin’s Michael James Scott joins YouTube’s Kat Steele for a one-night-only as he chats all about his favorite moments and secrets shooting A Killer Party: A Murder Mystery Musical. The nine-episode, suspenseful musical was fully produced from home and stars Laura Osnes, Jeremy Jordan, Krystina Alabado, Carolee Carmello, Jarrod Spector, Alex Newell, and Miguel Cervantes. The 90-minute live stream will be part watch party, part behind the scenes banter, part surprise. Be prepared for the thrill of pop up guests and prizes.

Halloween is Not Cancelled

You can still do the monster mash this year! Freestyle Love Supreme’s Anthony Veneziale hosts a one-night-only Halloween benefit that kicked off with a costume contest. The variety show celebrates everything you love about Halloween: costumes, makeup, and crafty treats. The evening includes appearances by American Idol’s Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young. Tony Award-winning costume designer Linda Cho (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder) and make-up artist and educator Eddie Duyos will also be a part of the show.

I Put a Spell On You: The Sanderson Sisters Break the Internet

Fans go Amok! Amok! Amok! every year for this annual show usually performed at Feinstein’s/54 Below. It’s a spoof of and tribute to the beloved cult classic movie Hocus Pocus. This year it will feature larger-than-life performances and choreography, over-the-top costumes and makeup, and plenty of Broadway razzle-dazzle. Jay Armstrong Johnson returns as Winifred Sanderson with Allison Robinson and Amanda Williams Ware as Sarah and Mary. It was all rehearsed and shot under strict COVID-19 guidelines. Todrick Hall, Robyn Hurder, Eva Noblezada, Will Swenson, Drew Gehling, and J. Harrison Ghee are also featured.

Macbeth: A Surround Sound Experiment

Macbeth tells the story of a Scottish general who kills the king to be king; then kills more people out of paranoia. In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover

It may be only Hocus Pocus but this 1993 film might be one of the most iconic Halloween classics. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are reuniting in costume as the Sanderson Sisters for Midler’s annual Hulaween extravaganza benefiting the New York Restoration Project. Hosted by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, the one hour benefit also features appearances by Glenn Close, Billy Crystal, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Debney, Samantha Diaz, Harry Guinness, Todrick Hall, Jennifer Hudson, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Michael Kors, Adam Lambert, George Lopez, Alex Moffat, Vanessa Shaw, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, John Stamos, Meryl Streep, Kenan Thompson, Sophie von Haselberg, and other surprise guests.

Broadway Halloween Bash for Kidz

Before the boom, splat of Halloween, grab your favorite Broadway-themed costume for an afternoon of thrilling theatrics. Hosted by Jelani Remy and Daniel Marandola, the show is aimed to be a safe place for kids since trick or treating may be canceled in some towns. Families joining in for the show will also get pre-made treats. There will be a costume contest and performances by some of your favorite stars including Jackie Burns, Syndee Winters, Leslie Margherita, and Kara Lindsay.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

James Monroe Iglehart and some of his Broadway friends will bring audiences a spooktacular reimagination of The Nightmare Before Christmas on Halloween. The Tony Award-winner joins some of his all-star comedic friends including Adrienne Warren, Danny Burstein, Nik Walker, Lesli Margherita, Rob McClure, and Rafael Casal for a one-night-only performance using items and clothes laying around the house. “We are extremely grateful to Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, and the Disney Music Group for allowing us the opportunity to bring our concert interpretation of The Nightmare Before Christmas to everyone this Halloween,” said James Monroe Iglehart in a statement.
