The Broadway production of the Olivier Award-winning play Stranger Things: The First Shadow begins performances on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Marquis Theatre!
Based on an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne, and Kate Trefry, and rooted in the mythology and world of the show, Stranger Things: The First Shadow explores events that took place decades before the story told in the TV series. “The first time we saw the play, we were blown away,” says Ross Duffer. “They pulled everything off, and then some. It was one of the most thrilling experiences of our lives,” adds Matt Duffer (Creators, Stranger Things).
Netflix also released a trailer announcing an official documentary titled Behind the Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow, an electrifying look backstage at the making of the critically acclaimed West End stage play, which opened at London’s Phoenix Theater in December 2023. The documentary will premiere on Netflix on April 15.
