The creative team of Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway

The Broadway play features an original story by playwright Kate Trefry, creative producers The Duffer Brothers, and Jack Thorne. Stranger Things: The First Shadow was co-directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Stephen Daldry (The Inheritance) and Justin Martin (Prima Facie), with an original score and orchestrations by D.J. Walde. Movement direction and choreography is by Tony Award nominee Lynn Page (La Cage aux Folles), with additional choreography by Coral Messam. The play’s set design is by Tony Award nominee Miriam Buether (Prima Facie, To Kill a Mockingbird), costume design is by Tony Award winner Brigitte Reiffenstuel (Leopoldstadt), lighting design is by Tony and Olivier Award winner Jon Clark (The Lehman Trilogy, The Inheritance), and sound design is by Tony and Olivier Award winner Paul Arditti (Billy Elliot). Stranger Things: The First Shadow is known in particular for its stunning illusions and visual effects, which are by Jamie Harrison (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) & Chris Fisher, along with video and visual effects by 59 Studio. Wigs, hair, and makeup design are by Campbell Young Associates. Casting is by Jim Carnahan, CSA, and Alexandre Bleau, CSA. The technical director is Gary Beestone.
