Regina Spektor heads to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for In Residence on Broadway

Regina Spektor is Headed to Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre

Coming on the heels of the announcement that international music sensation Yanni will be performing as part of the In Residence On Broadway Series, we have now learned that world renowned singer-songwriter Regina Spektor will join the roster. Spektor will play a limited concert engagement at Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, from June 20 to June 26, 2019.

“I am so inspired as I plan these five nights on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne, a beautiful old theater with a rich history” shared Spektor. “One of the things I’m most excited about is the chance to explore theatrical elements within my concert show. This isn’t a ‘Broadway Show,’ and yet it’s not a tour concert, either. I’m revisiting all the songs I’ve ever written, to see how some of them might group together and connect into a show. I am thinking up some fun ways to incorporate special guests as well. I’ll be rotating the solo songs quite a bit between the dates, and I’m finding ways to reimagine many of them. Some haven’t been played since my days of playing bars, cafes and open mics. So far the plan is to set up at the Lunt-Fontanne, and in my own small way, pay homage to Broadway!”

Regina Spektor was born Regina Ilyinichna Spektor in the Soviet Union in 1980. At the age of six, she began classically training on the piano. At the age of nine, her family emigrated to the United States. After self-releasing her first three albums, Spektor signed with Sire Records in 2004. She first found wide popularity in the United States with the 2006 album Begin to Hope and has continued to impress with subsequent recordings including Far, What We Saw From the Cheap Seats, and Remember Us To Life. She received a Grammy nomination for her Orange is the New Black theme song “You’ve Got Time”. Her work can also be heard on the Hamilton Mix Tape, as well as throughout television and film.

Pre-sale begins tomorrow, March 26 at 10 am ET and ends on Thursday, March 28 at 10 pm ET. The general on-sale begins at 10 am ET on Friday, March 29. The shows are in conjunction with In Residence On Broadway, produced by Live Nation, The Araca Group, and EBG (Entertainment Benefits Group).
