The Inheritance Cast Announced

The epic two-part play The Inheritance by Matthew Lopez, coming to the Great White Way following a successful London production, begins previews on Broadway on September 27, 2019. Producers Tom Kirdahy, Sonia Friedman Productions, and Hunter Arnold have announced the cast for the piece that will officially open at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

Reprising their roles from the London production will be Andrew Burnap, John Benjamin Hickey, Paul Hilton, Samuel H. Levine, and Kyle Soller. Joining them will be Jordan Barbour, Jonathan Burke, Darryl Gene Daughtry Jr., Dylan Frederick, Kyle Harris, Carson McCalley, Lois Smith, and Arturo Luis Soria. The company will also include understudies Mark H. Dold, Kate Goehring, Sam Lilja, Jake Odmark, Matthew Russell, Bradley James Tejeda, and Reggie D. White.

The Inheritance comes to Broadway with many accolades in its pocket, including a 2019 Olivier Award, Evening Standard Award, and London Critics Circle Award for Best New Play. Under the direction of Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, Netflix’s The Crown), the show will feature costume and scenic designs by Olivier and Tony Award winner Bob Crowley. Jon Clark will be lighting designer.

The Inheritance asks how much we owe to those who lived and loved before us, and questions the role we must play for future generations. Brilliantly re-envisioning E. M. Forster’s masterpiece Howards End to 21st-century New York, it follows the interlinking lives of three generations of gay men searching for a community of their own – and a place to call home.”
