Rising star Amber Ardolino has been a highlight in many Broadway ensembles, having performed in the companies of Head Over Heels, Hamilton, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Funny Girl, and most recently Back to the Future: The Musical. She has also become quite the social media star, garnering a following for her viral TikToks.
Fresh off her first week in the hit musical in which she performs the showstopper “Forever in Blue Jeans,” Ardolino took some time to answer 5 Questions with Broadway Direct, sharing why actors’ chameleon-like nature inspired her, the “ferocious” moments in A Beautiful Noise, and which NYC hang is her favorite.
1. What inspired you to become an actor?
I’ve always loved telling stories. So for me, acting was a chance to get to tell stories on a larger platform. I love watching interviews of people in their everyday life and then watching them become a completely different character onstage. It was always intriguing to me how they could be chameleons. I always wanted to play characters like that.
2. Who in your field inspires you?
The triple threats of my field are always so inspiring to me. They get to reach people through three different aspects of their performance. Singing, movement, and storytelling.

3. What will audiences be most excited about seeing in A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical?
A Beautiful Noise is not only giving incredible music and ferocious dance numbers… but the story and journey to the end of this show is truly one of the most grounding and fulfilling parts. The end of this musical makes you leave the theatre thinking about your own life. I believe good theater leaves you with that kind of impact.
4. If you didn’t need to sleep at night, what would you spend your time doing?
I do not sleep at night. So can I choose to sleep at night? Preferably with my dogs next to me.
