Block & Arcelus to Join Into the Woods, New Broadway Cast Revealed

There are some new names journeying Into the Woods! Real-life married couple, Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block and Sebastian Arcelus will star as the Baker’s Wife and the Baker, respectively, beginning September 6. Joining alongside them are Krysta Rodriguez as Cinderella, Katy Geraghty as Little Red Ridinghood, and Jim Stanek as the Steward.

Patina Miller, Gavin Creel, and Joshua Henry have all extended their runs in the revival, with Tony Award nominee Montego Glover joining the cast and sharing the role of The Witch with Miller. Three-time Tony Award nominee Andy Karl will play the role of the Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince from September 6 through September 15, as Creel fulfills a prior commitment.

Beginning on September 27, Ann Harada will reprise her role of Jack’s Mother from the City Center Encores! production.

As previously announced, Sara Bareilles, Brian d’Arcy James, and Phillipa Soo continue through September 4. Ta’Nika Gibson, Annie Golden, Albert Guerzon, Brooke Ishibashi, Kennedy Kanagawa, David Patrick Kelly, Nancy Opel, Cole Thompson, Alysia Velez, Delphi Borich, Felicia Curry, Jason Forbach, Alex Joseph Grayson, Cameron Johnson, Paul Kreppel, Mary Kate Moore, Diane Phelan, and Lucia Spina will continue with the production.

New York City Center Encores! production of James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s beloved musical, Into the Woods, began Tuesday, June 28 at the St. James Theatre, officially opening on July 10. Into the Woods is directed by Lear deBessonet, with music direction by Rob Berman with The Encores! Orchestra, and choreographed by Lorin Latarro. This production is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Sondheim.
