Disney’s Broadway Stars Perform “Go The Distance” for ABC’s Day of Hope

In light of the detrimental impact that the COVID-19 crisis has had on communities across the world, people everywhere are rising to the occasion to do what they can to help their neighbors and support the essential workers who are risking their lives every day to help others.

As a result of the pandemic, millions of Americans are facing food insecurity at higher rates than ever before. In order to assist those in need, ABC has launched Day of Hope in partnership with Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in America. The goal of Day of Hope is to highlight and support the food banks and volunteer workers who are working on the front lines to provide resources to those in need. Day of Hope is April 9, 2020.

In addition to the commendable work of the necessary volunteers who have been stepping up to collect and distribute resources, the Broadway community is once again doing their part to raise awareness and honor local heroes across the country. Today, Good Morning America aired a video of nine current and former Disney on Broadway stars performing “Go the Distance” from Hercules. The song is meant as an anthem of support for all the food bank personnel, volunteers, and all those who are struggling during this time.

The video features Heather Headley (Lion King, Aida), Ciara Renée (Frozen, The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Jelani Alladin (Frozen, Hercules), L. Steven Taylor (The Lion King), Adrienne Walker (The Lion King), McKenzie Kurtz (Frozen), Michael James Scott (Aladdin), Ryan McCartan (Frozen), and James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin).
