Featuring a score by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and a book by Jennifer Lee, Frozen is scheduled to make its Broadway premiere at the St. James Theatre in the Spring of 2018. Michael Grandage is attached as the director of the production that will have an out-of-town tryout at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Choreography will be provided by Rob Ashford, orchestrations Dave Metzger, costumes and sets by Christopher Oram, and lighting by Natasha Katz. Peter Hylenski will serve as the production’s sound designer, Michael Curry will provide puppet designs, and Finn Ross is onboard as video designer.

Frozen will be adapted from the 2013 animated film by Walt Disney Studios, itself based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairytale The Snow Queen. The production will carry over the Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez score, including the Oscar-winning “Let it Go.” The film featured the voice talents of Broadway superstars Idina Menzel (Wicked, If/Then) and Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, Hamilton), as well as Kristen Bell (TV’s Veronica Mars, Broadway’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer), Josh Gad (The Book of Mormon) and Santino Fontana (Cinderella, Act One).

Tickets for the Broadway production of Frozen will go on sale later this year. More information is forthcoming.
