“A hilarious, dazzling celebration of love, Head Over Heels follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction. You’ll meet a king about to lose his throne, a queen about to lose her inhibitions, and two princesses about to find love. It’s a modern musical fairy tale where once upon a time is right now.”
The creative team for Head Over Heels is led by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer with musical supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Pulitzer Prize and Tony winner Tom Kitt. Choreography is provided by Emmy and Drama Desk nominee Spencer Liff.
Head Over Heels features a score comprised of songs by the popular 80s band The Go-Go’s, with additional songs from bandmember Belinda Carlisle’s solo career. Making their Broadway debut, The Go-Go’s shared their feelings on the show: “Head Over Heels is a celebration of love in all its forms, joyful, fun and full of heart, driven by the songs that for decades have been making people jump from their seats and dance.” The musical is based upon The Arcadia by Sir Philip Sidney, original book and concept by Tony winner Jeff Whitty and adapted by James Magruder. The musical is currently playing at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre.
