Illusionist and Mind Reader Derren Brown is Broadway Bound

Two-time Oliver Award winner Derren Brown, known world-wide for his unique brand of mind reading, persuasion, and psychological illusion, is making his way to the Great White Way. A phenomenon of the United Kingdom, as well as a star of the Netflix streaming platform, brings his show Derren Brown: Secret to Broadway’s Cort Theatre following a critically acclaimed, Off-Broadway run at the Atlantic Theater Company. The Broadway berth will commence on September 6, 2019.

Derren Brown: Secret is described as “a spellbinding experience that dares us — in the most jaw-dropping way — to take a closer look at the stories and beliefs that guide our lives.” Brown, who prefers to be known as a “mentalist”, says the evening will be a mixture of mind reading and magic.

Brown has enjoyed a long career in the business of magic and illusion. His stage shows Something Wicked This Way Comes (2006) and his Svengali (2012) both won Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Entertainment. Prior to that, he made his television debut in 2000 with Derren Brown: Mind Control. He is the author of five books on magic including Absolute MagicPure Effect, Tricks of the MindConfessions of a Conjuror, and Happy.

J.J. Abrams will produce the Broadway run of Derren Brown: Secret with Thomas Kail (Director of Hamilton) and Jeffrey Seller (lead producer of Hamilton) joining him.
