New York, New York to Release Original Broadway Cast Recording

Start spreading the news! It was announced today that New York, New York will digitally release its original Broadway cast recording next month on June 9, 2023. Released through the Wine & Peaches label, the album is produced by Michael Croiter, Sam Davis, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, and co-produced by Sonia Friedman, Tom Kirdahy, and Craig Balsam.

The upcoming album features the show’s complete score, comprising 90 minutes of music, including orchestral interludes. Like the show, the album will be a love letter to New York City, with music ranging from thrilling Afro-Cuban rhythms, and traditional Big Band, to classic Broadway showstoppers.

The recipient of nine Tony Award nominations, New York, New York is now playing at the St. James Theatre. Tony nominee Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele star in the new musical as Jimmy Doyle and Francine Evans, respectively, alongside Clyde Alves as Tommy Caggiano, John Clay III as Jesse Webb, Janet Dacal as Sofia Diaz, Ben Davis as Gordon Kendrick, Oliver Prose as Alex Mann, Angel Sigala as Mateo Diaz, and Emily Skinner as Madame Veltri.

Featuring music and lyrics by Tony, Emmy & Grammy Award winners, and Academy Award nominees John Kander & Fred Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret), written by Tony Award nominee David Thompson (The Scottsboro Boys, Steel Pier)co-written by Sharon Washington (Audible’s Feeding The Dragon) and featuring additional lyrics by Pulitzer, Tony, Emmy & Grammy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In The Heights), New York, New York is directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (The Producers, The Scottsboro Boys).
