10 years after leaving the production and only one year after Leslie Odom Jr.’s return to the Richard Rodgers Theatre, Christopher Jackson returns to the Hamilton stage to reprise his Original Broadway Cast role of George Washington for a limited engagement. Celebrating his return on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Broadway Direct was there to capture Jackson’s first bow.
Jackson originated the role of George Washington in Hamilton’s Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and a Grammy Award as a principal soloist on the Original Broadway Cast Recording. He is currently playing a limited return engagement at the Richard Rodgers Theatre through January 3, 2027.
