Sharon Sachs

Sharon Sachs to Join Cast of Wicked on Broadway

Welcome to Shiz! Sharon Sachs will take over the role of Madame Morrible in the Broadway blockbuster Wicked, beginning performances on February 14, 2022, at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre. Ms. Sachs comes to the Broadway company directly from the show’s National Tour.

Two-time Tony Award winner Judy Kaye will briefly return to the role of Madame Morrible from February 2 to February 13, 2022, joined by Amanda Jane Cooper as Glinda on those same dates. As previously announced, Brittney Johnson will officially assume the role of Glinda on February 14.

The current cast of Wicked includes Lindsay Pearce as Elphaba, Ginna Claire Mason as Glinda, Alexandra Billings as Madame Morrible, Michael McCormick as The Wizard, Sam Gravitte as Fiyero, Jordan Barrow as Boq, Mili Diaz as Nessarose, and Michael X. Martin as Doctor Dillamond.

Wicked, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.” With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” Wicked has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place.”
