Actors Come Together to Maximize Star Power
As shows from the fall wrap up their Broadway runs, there are still a few chances to catch multiple stars in one performance. Julianna Margulies and Peter Gallagher have returned to the stage in Left on Tenth, a new play by Delia Ephron based on her New York Times best-selling memoir.
Cult of Love starring Shailene Woodley, Zachary Quinto, and Barbie Ferreira runs through February 2. John Mulaney finished up his run in All In: Comedy About Love, now handing off the reins to Lin-Manuel Miranda. The myriad of rotating stars joining the cast of All In over the next month include Hank Azaria, Aidy Bryant, Jimmy Fallon, and Nick Kroll, to name a few.

Leading Ladies of Broadway Make Grand Returns
Broadway has churned out many icons of the stage who find great success across other entertainment mediums, so it’s always exciting when they find their way back home.
After months of speculation, the theater community was abuzz when it was confirmed in May 2024 that six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald would take on the legendary role of Rose in Gypsy this fall. Opening to rave reviews last month, the new revival led by McDonald can been seen at the Majestic Theatre.

Rising Stars Land Broadway Star Turns
Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler have been making strides on screen throughout the first half of this decade. Connor led the groundbreaking Netflix series Heartstopper, and Zegler made her theatrical talents known on screen in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story — her film debut — and followed that up with a fan-favorite turn in last year’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
Now the pair united in their Broadway debuts this past fall leading a brand-new production of Romeo + Juliet. With direction by Tony winner Sam Gold and music by Jack Antonoff, the play is one of the hottest tickets and a show audiences should have on their radar.

In the spring, a Broadway baby will make her return to the stage as a Broadway leading lady. Sadie Sink, widely known for starring in Stranger Things on Netflix, will return to Broadway in the premiere of John Proctor Is the Villain. She was last seen on Broadway as a child star in The Audience opposite Helen Mirren in 2015 and as the titular role in Annie before that.

Former Girl-Group Stars Take the Stage
If you’re a Destiny’s Child or Pussycat Dolls fan, this season on Broadway is an exciting one.
Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams, who has been seen on Broadway before in Aida and Chicago, is gracing the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the musical adaptation of Death Becomes Her. The show officially opened on November 21, with stage favorites Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard leading the company alongside Williams.

Nicole Scherzinger is ready for her Broadway close-up. Rising to fame originally as a member of the Pussycat Dolls, Scherzinger first found success on the stage in London’s West End, portraying Grizabella in the 2014 production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. Now inhabiting another iconic Lloyd Webber leading lady, Scherzinger has brought her acclaimed performance as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard to Broadway. After becoming the talk of the West End last fall for her performance in the Jamie Lloyd revival, and going on to receive an Olivier Award, it’s proving to be a much-talked-about performance on Broadway as well.

Succession Stars Storm Broadway
The cultural phenomenon Succession completed its run on HBO in 2023 and Broadway has seen many of its stars take the stage.
Last year, Jeremy Strong won a Tony Award for his turn in An Enemy of the People and Julianna Canfield starred in the Tony Award-winning play Stereophonic. Peter Friedman and Sydney Lemmon also starred in JOB, which finished its limited run in October. It doesn’t end there, though.
This spring Kieran Culkin, known for playing Roman Roy on the HBO series, will star in a revival of Glengarry Glen Ross opposite Better Call Saul’s Bob Odenkirk and comedian Bill Burr. The play begins previews at the legendary Palace Theatre on March 10, 2025.
