When will Our Town open on Broadway?
Our Town will open on Broadway October 10, 2024. Ahead of its opening, the show will begin preview performances on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. This will be the first Broadway revival of the show in more than 20 years!
Where will Our Town play?
The mythical village of Grover’s Corners is moving to Manhattan. Our Town is set to play at the historicBarrymore Theatre.
Who will be in the cast?
The play will feature 28 actors, led by Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Jim Parsons in the role of Stage Manager.
The cast will star Zoey Deutch as Emily Webb, Katie Holmes as Mrs. Webb, Obie and Audelco Award winner and Drama Desk nominee Billy Eugene Jones as Dr. Gibbs, Tony and Grammy Award nominee Ephraim Sykes as George Gibbs, Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Richard Thomas as Mr. Webb, Tony and Drama Desk nominee Michelle Wilson as Mrs. Gibbs, 2021 Special Tony Award winner and Drama Desk nominee Julie Halston as Mrs. Soames, and Donald Webber Jr. as Simon Stimpson.
The company also features Ephie Aardema, Heather Ayers, Willa Bost, Bobby Daye, Safiya Kaijya Harris, Doron JéPaul, Shyla Lefner, Anthony Michael Lopez, John McGinty, Bryonha Marie, Kevyn Morrow, Hagan Oliveras, Noah Pyzik, Sky Smith, Bill Timoney, Matthew Elijah Webb, and Nimene Sierra Wureh. What is Our Town about?
Our Town is a play by Thornton Wilder that explores life in the fictional New Hampshire town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913. A stage manager narrates the daily lives of its locals, depicting the life cycles of George Gibbs and Emily Webb, whose childhood friendship blossoms into romance and marriage. This love sets the stage for the story of a small town highlighting the magnificent truths of what it means to be alive
Who is on the creative team of Our Town?
Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon will lead the new Broadway revival of the play written by Thornton Wilder.
