It is never too early to start thinking about Broadway’s night of nights, the Tony Awards. It is one of theatre’s biggest celebrations of the best that Broadway has to offer, and the date of the 2019 awards ceremony has been set. The 73rd Annual Tony Awards will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 8:00 PM (ET)/7:00 PM (CT) at Radio City Music Hall. The telecast will air on CBS and be presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
For this year’s Tony nominations, the eligibility cut-off date will be Thursday, April 25, 2019 for all Broadway productions opening in the 2018-2019 season. Productions that meet all other eligibility requirements and open on or before the eligibility date may be considered eligible for 2019 Tony Award nominations. Nominations, which are always an exciting part of the Tony festivities, will be announced on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers of the Tony Awards telecast, with Weiss also serving as director. Kirshner and Weiss have won multiple Emmy Awards.
