Watch Now: Cole Escola on Making Their Broadway Debut with Oh, Mary!

Following its smash-hit run at the Lucille Lortel Theatre Off-Broadway, Oh, Mary! will open on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre this summer. Cole Escola, the star and creator of Oh, Mary!, stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers to discuss the show’s Broadway premiere and what it was like to perform in front of Steven Spielberg, Sally Field, and Tony Kushner.

Oh, Mary! stars Escola as a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this one act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln through the lens of an idiot (Cole Escola). The show also stars Conrad Ricamora as Mary’s Husband, James Scully as Mary’s Teacher, Bianca Leigh as Mary’s Chaperone, and Tony Macht as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, with Hannah Solow and Peter Smith completing the cast.

Oh, Mary! will begin previews at the Lyceum Theatre on June 26, 2024, ahead of an opening night on July 11, 2024. Tickets for the limited 12-week engagement are now on sale.
