Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Phillipa Soo is back on Broadway starring as Cinderella in the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s musical classic Into the Woods, now playing at the St. James Theatre. Soo stopped by TODAY to chat about her spin on the role of Cinderella, her career on stage and screen, and the support system her husband provided while exploring the work of Sondheim.

New York City Center Encores! production of James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s beloved musical, Into the Woods, began Tuesday, June 28 at the St. James Theatre, ahead of an official opening night on July 10. Into the Woods is directed by Lear deBessonet, with music direction by Rob Berman with The Encores! Orchestra, and choreographed by Lorin Latarro. This production is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Sondheim.
