The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back! was a welcome celebration of the best of Broadway from reunions of beloved shows like Ragtime and Wicked to a dazzling opening number from host Leslie Odom Jr. It was certainly a night to remember.
In a special set of reunion duets, Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, Wicked‘s original witches, gave a tearjerking performance of “For Good.” In a Rent reunion, original Broadway cast members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp performed “What You Own.” The special set of reunions ended with a stunning performance from original Ragtime stars Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell singing “Wheels of a Dream.”
