Wicked on The Tonight Show

Watch Now: Wicked‘s Witches Perform Medley on The Tonight Show

Wicked is officially back on Broadway! In honor of their return, the show’s main witches, Lindsay Pearce (Elphaba) and Ginna Claire Mason (Glinda), stopped by The Tonight Show to perform a medley of “Popular” and “The Wizard and I.”

A celebration throughout Oz was had when Wicked resumed performances on September 14 at the Gershwin Theatre. Along with Pearce and Mason, the current cast stars Alexandra Billings as Madame Morrible (Kathy Fitzgerald plays the role through September 26), Michael McCormick as The Wizard, Sam Gravitte as Fiyero, Mili Diaz as Nessarose, Riley Costello as Boq, and Michael X. Martin as Doctor Dillamond with standbys Jennifer DiNoia (Elphaba) and Brittney Johnson (Glinda).

Wicked, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle.  Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.” With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” Wicked has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place.”
