This exciting new revival has its cast! Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has announced complete casting for the new Broadway production of the Tony Award-winning musical, 1776, directed by Jeffrey L. Page and Diane Paulus, and co-produced with the American Repertory Theater (Diane Paulus, Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director; Kelvin Dinkins, Jr., Executive Director).
Roundabout welcomes the return of Lucille Lortel Award Winner and Antonyo Award Nominee Crystal Lucas-Perry for her Broadway debut as John Adams in 1776, following the Roundabout Underground world-premiere production of Little Children Dream of God. Three-time Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello returns to Broadway as John Dickinson, following her recent starring roles in Tuck Everlasting and Finding Neverland, and in the hit Off-Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd. She also starred as Abigail Adams in the 1997 commercial transfer of Roundabout Theatre Company’s previous revival of 1776.

1776 begins preview performances on Friday, September 16, 2022, and opens officially on Thursday, October 6, 2022. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway.
1776 recently concluded its limited engagement at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA. Following the Broadway run, 1776 will begin a national tour in February 2023 in Philadelphia, PA at the Forrest Theatre. 1776 was previously revived on Broadway by Roundabout Theatre Company in 1997 before transferring to a commercial run at the Gershwin Theatre.
