It was announced today that a spectacular new 50th Anniversary Broadway production of Annie, the iconic Tony Award-winning musical that has inspired generations of audiences and theater makers around the world, will premiere on Broadway in Fall 2027, fifty years after its historic Broadway debut transformed American musical theater forever.
This landmark new production will be directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton (Oh, Mary!, The Rocky Horror Show), whose visionary theatrical storytelling and celebrated work on Broadway and off have established him as one of the leading directors of his generation. Under Pinkleton’s direction, Annie will retain the heart, optimism, and timeless spirit that have made it a cultural touchstone, while offering a fresh theatrical perspective for a new generation of theatergoers.
