Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club Moves Up Closing Date to This Month

It has been announced that Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club will play its final performance on Broadway later this month. Originally announced to be closing on October 19, 2025, the acclaimed revival will close at the August Wilson Theatre on September 21, 2025, after 18 previews and 592 regular performances.

In addition, Cabaret announces that Billy Porter must withdraw from the production as he recovers from a serious case of sepsis. Marty Lauter and David Merino (alternates) will share the role of Emcee for the upcoming final performances alongside Marisha Wallace as Sally Bowles. Merino will perform from September 9-11 and September 19-21. Lauter will perform from September 12-18.

Wallace, Lauter, and Merino are joined by Calvin Leon Smith as Clifford Bradshaw, 2024 Tony Award nominee Steven Skybell as Herr Schultz, Ellen Harvey as Fraulein Schneider, Henry Gottfried as Ernst Ludwig, and Michelle Aravena as Fritzie/Kost.

Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club on Broadway is directed by Olivier Award winner and 2024 Drama Desk Award nominee Rebecca Frecknall with club, scenic, and costume design by Tony Award winner, Evening Standard Award winner, and Olivier Award nominee Tom Scutt, and choreography by 2024 Chita Rivera Award nominee and Olivier Award nominee Julia Cheng. Cabaret features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.
