Caroline, or Change Announces Complete Cast

Caroline, or Change, the revival of the 2004 Broadway musical readying to open on Broadway on April 7, 2020, has announced a complete cast. The musical, which will begin preview performances at Studio 54 on March 13, has already had much of its cast revealed, with Sharon D. Clarke reprising her Olivier Award-winning performance for this Broadway production. Joining her in the role of “Emmie,” the part that won Anika Noni Rose a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, will be Samantha Williams. Williams made her Broadway debut in Dear Evan Hansen as a replacement “Alana Beck” in the hit musical.

Also appearing in the production will be Kaden Amari Anderson as Jackie/Joe Alternate, Joy Hermalyn as Grandma Gellman, Kevin S. McAllister as Bus/Dryer, N’Kenge as The Moon, and Jaden Myles Waldman as the Noah Gellman alternate. They round out an ensemble that includes the previously announced Alexander Bello (Joe Thibodeaux), John Cariani (Stuart Gellman), Arica Jackson (Washing Machine), Tamika Lawrence (Dotty Moffett), Caissie Levy (Rose Stopnick Gellman), Harper Miles (Radio 3), Jonah Mussolino (Noah Gellman), Nya (Radio 2), Chinua Payne (Jackie Thibodeaux), Nasia Thomas (Radio 1), Stuart Zagnit (Grandpa Gellman), Chip Zien (Mr. Stopnick).

Coming to New York after a hit run in London, Caroline, or Change will be directed by Michael Longhurst, with choreography by Ann Yee. The musical features a book and lyrics by Tony Award-winning playwright Tony Kushner (Angels in America), and music by Tony-winning composer Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home). Nigel Lilley will provide Musical Supervision and Chris Fenwick is on board for Musical Direction.
