The Tony-Nominated Broadway musical Frozen, based on the Oscar-winning, animated Disney film, is about to bring its heartwarming story to the country. Having broken two longstanding box office records at the St. James Theatre, Frozen will hit the road in the Fall of 2019 with a national tour. The tour will have its official opening at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre.
Frozen features a score by the Oscar and Tony-winning composing team of Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, a book by Jennifer Lee, direction by Michael Grandage, and choreography by Rob Ashford. The balance of the creative team includes Tony-winning scenic and costume designer Christopher Oram, Tony-winning lighting designer Natasha Katz, Tony-nominated sound designer Peter Hylenski, Tony-winning video designer Finn Ross, Drama Desk Award-nominated puppet designer Michael Curry, and Tony-winning music supervisor Stephen Oremus. Frozen was recently-nominated for 3 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book.
Loosely-based of the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale “The Snow Queen”, Frozen is a full-length stage work told in two acts. Expanding upon the Disney film, book writer Jennifer Lee has created the framework for a richer and deeper telling of two sisters whose love for each other supersedes all. The stage production features many of the hit songs from the film, including the Oscar-winning “Let it Go” that became one of the biggest earworms of the last decade. The score has been updated by composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez to include additional songs, among them the show-stopping “Monster” and “True Love.”
Frozen is produced by Disney Theatrical Productions under the direction of Thomas Schumacher.
Information regarding casting, engagement dates, and how to purchase groups and single tickets will be announced at a later time.
