After months of speculation and pleas from fans everywhere, it was confirmed earlier this year that Jamie Lloyd’s award-winning revival of Evita will officially transfer to Broadway in 2027 following a critically-acclaimed run on London’s West End. The long-loved musical made its original Broadway debut in 1979 with a brief revival in 2012. Now, the musical returns to New York City with Rachel Zegler reprising her titular role.

When will Evita open on Broadway?
Evita will begin preview performances on February 27, 2027 with an opening night set for March 25, 2027. As of now, Evita is on sale through November 21, 2027.

Evita will be playing at the Winter Garden Theatre.
Who will be in the cast of Evita on Broadway?
Evita will star Golden Globe and Olivier Award winner Rachel Zegler, who will be reprising her titular role of Eva Perón. Additional casting has yet to be announced. In the London production, Diego Andres Rodriguez, fresh off his Broadway debut in Lloyd’s Sunset Blvd., starred as Che opposite Zegler, earning an Olivier Award nomination for his performance.
Who will be on the creative team of Evita on Broadway?
Evita features lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and will be under the complete direction of Jamie Lloyd. While additional creative team details have yet to be announced, it is expected that Lloyd’s frequent collaborators will also be part of the Evita team on Broadway.
