Broadway’s record-breaking hit musical Chicago has just announced that Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion) will make her Broadway debut in the role of Roxie Hart beginning Monday, September 15, 2025, through Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Ambassador Theatre.
Sorvino shares, “I have wished to dance and sing in a Broadway musical since I was a small child. To join Chicago, such a legendary show, and such an incredible cast past and present, is literally a dream come true!!”
Mira Sorvino is best known for her Academy Award-winning performance as Linda Ash in Mighty Aphrodite, for which she also won a Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice Award, National Board of Review Award, and New York Film Critics Circle Award. She received additional Golden Globe nominations for Human Trafficking and Norma Jean and Marilyn, also earning an Emmy nomination for the latter. Her diverse film credits include Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Summer of Sam, Beautiful Girls, Quiz Show, Mimic, The Replacement Killers, Reservation Road, and Union Square. On television, Sorvino has appeared in Shining Vale, American Crime Story: Impeachment, Hollywood, Condor, Startup, Modern Family, and Intruders. Upcoming films include Sound of Freedom and Lamborghini.

The current cast of Chicago features Dylis Croman as Roxie Hart, Bianca Marroquín as Velma Kelly, Jacqueline B. Arnold as Matron “Mama” Morton, Tam Mutu as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
