In a rare occurrence for Broadway, one of its famed theatrical halls will become a cinema. The Belasco Theatre will play host to Martin Scorsese’s latest film The Irishman, screening for one month, from November 1, 2019 through December 1, 2019. Tickets for the special event will go on sale next week. Showings will coincide with the traditional Broadway performance schedule, with eight performances a week, Tuesday through Sunday evenings, with matinees on Saturday and Sunday.

Starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, The Irishman marks Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese’s latest film triumph, after such critically acclaimed masterpieces such as Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Color of Money, The Last Temptation of Christ, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, The Age of Innocence, Casino, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed (Oscar), Shutter Island, Hugo and The Wolf of Wall Street. Based on the 2004 memoir I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt, the story follows mob hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran as he recounts his work for the Bufalino crime family. The cast also includes Bobby Cannavale, Anna Paquin, Harvey Keitel, Stephen Graham, Kathrine Narducci, and Ray Romano.
