Sony Masterworks Broadway, along with producers The Araca Group, American Zoetrope, Olympus Theatricals, Sue Gilad & Larry Rogowsky and Angelina Jolie, has announced that The Outsiders will release an original Broadway cast recording this May.
With music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay & Zach Chance) and Justin Levine, the Original Broadway Cast Recording of The Outsiders is set for digital release on Friday, May 22, 2024, and on CD on Friday, June 28. Today’s album announcement is accompanied by the third track release “Soda’s Letter,” which features vocals by Jason Schmidt with Brent Comer and Brody Grant. “Soda’s Letter” follows the release of the second track “Stay Gold,” which features vocals by Sky Lakota-Lynch (Johnny Cade) and Brody Grant (Ponyboy Curtis), and the premiere track release “Great Expectations,” performed by Brody Grant.
The musical adaption of the iconic novel stars Brody Grant as Ponyboy Curtis, Sky Lakota-Lynch as Johnny Cade, Joshua Boone as Dallas Winston, Brent Comer as Darrel Curtis, Jason Schmidt as Sodapop Curtis, Emma Pittman as Cherry Valance, Daryl Tofa as Two-Bit Mathews, Kevin William Paul as Bob Sheldon, and Dan Berry as Paul Holden.
The company also includes Jordan Chin, Milena J. Comeau, Barton Cowperthwaite, Tilly Evans-Krueger, Henry Gendron, RJ Higton, Wonza Johnson, Sean Harrison Jones, Maggie Kuntz, Renni Anthony Magee, SarahGrace Mariani, Melody Rose, Josh Strobl, Victor Carrillo Tracey, Trevor Wayne.
The Outsiders is now on Broadway and officially opens Thursday, April 11, 2024.
