Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Video of Carousel’s Cast Album Recording

Broadway Direct’s got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at some of the cast during the recording of the new Broadway cast album, Carousel.

Lindsay Mendez radiates with joy while singing “Mister Snow.” “It’s a major dream come true. I never thought I would be on a Rodgers & Hammerstein album, let alone a Broadway show,” the actress, who won a Tony Award for her performance as Carrie Pipperidge last month, says of the opportunity. “I am really blown away I get to be on it.”

Here’s a sneak-peek of Tony-nominated actress Renée Fleming who plays Nettie Fowler recording “June is Bustin’ Out All Over.” “The joy that is in “June is Bustin’ Out All Over” along with the loss, the sense of abandonment,” the opera singer says of her hit song. “The entire human condition is in this piece.”

The album recording of the revival, which was nominated for 11 Tony Awards, is already available digitally and will be in sold in stores Friday, July 13.

Set in a small New England factory town, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s timeless musical Carousel tells the story of a tragic romance between a troubled carnival barker and a young woman who gives up everything for him. Joshua Henry (Billy Bigelow), Jessie Mueller (Julie Jordan), and Alexander Gemignani (Enoch Snow), who were all nominated for Tony Awards for their roles, lead the cast.
