Broadway in Chicago Suspends Productions

Updated June 10, 2020: 

In response to COVID-19 (coronavirus), Broadway In Chicago announced today that the upcoming engagement of Come From Away, originally scheduled for August 25 – September 6, 2020, at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, will now play April 21 – May 2, 2021, at the same theatre. Current ticket holders will be moved into the new performance weeks automatically.

Patrons that purchased tickets through Ticketmaster or Broadway In Chicago will be contacted to assure you of your refund or change of date.

In response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus), Broadway In Chicago announced today that the upcoming engagement of Disney’s Frozen, originally scheduled to run October 21, 2020 – January 3, 2021, at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, will now run November 18, 2021 – January 23, 2022. Current ticket holders will be moved into the new performance weeks automatically.

The safety and health of our patrons, staff, and theatrical companies is our top priority. In response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus), here is an update of the shows that are newly canceled or rescheduled:

  • DEAR EVAN HANSEN at the CIBC Theatre, July 7 – September 27, 2020, has been canceled. Dates for 2022 to be announced.
  • SIX at the Broadway Playhouse, originally scheduled for July 8 – October 25, 2020, has been rescheduled for November 24, 2020 – March 21, 2021.
  • THE CHOIR OF MAN at the Broadway Playhouse, February 2 – 7, 2021, has been cancelled. Possible dates to be announced in 2021.
  • THE OFFICE! A MUSICAL PARODY at the Broadway Playhouse, February 9 – 21, 2021, has been cancelled.
  • THE CROWN – LIVE at the Broadway Playhouse, February 23 – 28, 2021, has been cancelled.
  • SOME LIKE IT HOT at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, March 2 – April 4, 2021, has been cancelled.

Ticket holders for the above rescheduled shows will be automatically moved into the new dates. Patrons can check the status of their tickets by logging into their Ticketmaster account. The “Sign In” button can be found in the top right corner of Ticketmaster.com. Ticket holders for cancelled performances will be refunded through their point of purchase within 45 days. Patrons with additional questions can contact their point of purchase.

Updated May 13, 2020:

With a ban on mass gatherings still in effect for the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago, Broadway In Chicago announced today that the upcoming engagement of Dear Evan Hansen, originally scheduled for July 7 – September 27, 2020, at the CIBC Theatre, has been canceled.

Broadway In Chicago is working with the producers to bring Dear Evan Hansen back to Chicago in 2022, with specific dates to be announced.

All ticket holders and individual ticket buyers will be refunded via their point of purchase.

This morning, Broadway in Chicago released the following statement with regards to the current COVID-19 situation:

(Chicago, March 13. 2020) The safety and health of our patrons, staff and theatrical companies is our top priority.  In response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) we will be canceling or rescheduling the following performances:

  • THE BACHELOR LIVE ON STAGE, CADILLAC PALACE THEATRE, MARCH 14, 2020 IS RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2020
  • KEANE – CAUSE AND EFFECT TOUR, CADILLAC PALACE THEATRE, MARCH 20, 2020 – CANCELLED
  • MY FAIR LADY, CADILLAC PALACE THEATRE, MARCH 24 – APRIL 12, 2020 IS RESCHEDULED TO MAY 10 – 23, 2021
  • WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME, BROADWAY PLAYHOUSE, ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED THROUGH APRIL 12, 2020
    • Will suspend performances immediately (Friday, March 13) through the end of March. The show hopes to resume performances on Tuesday, March 31 – April 12, 2020 at are reduced capacity based on the guidelines related to COVID-19 provided by the CDC and Chicago Department of Public Health, and pending the ongoing guidance of local government.
