Each Thursday, we bring you another memorable moment from Broadway’s past.
This week, we rewind the clock to June of 1976!
- The original production of Godspell opened at the Broadhurst on June 17th, 1976.
- The production moved twice, first to the Plymouth Theatre (now the Gerald Schoenfeld) in September of 1976 and then later to the Ambassador Theatre in January of 1977.
- The show ran for over 500 performances and was nominated for one Tony Award for Best Original Score.
