Throwback Thursday

#ThrowBackThursday – Chicago

Each Thursday, we bring you another memorable moment from Broadway’s past.

This week, we rewind the clock to June of 1975!

  • The original production of Chicago opened at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rodgers) on June 3rd, 1975.
  • The cast included Broadway stars Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera and Jerry Orbach. When Verdon got vocal nodes during the show’s run, Liza Minelli stepped in to play the role of Roxie Hart.
  • The show ran for over 900 performances and was nominated for eleven Tony Awards, but did not win any.

Below, check out a from Jerry Orbach and the cast of Chicago!
