Each Thursday, we’ll be bringing you another memorable moment from Broadway’s past. As we look back, we’ll highlight some important trivia from the show as well as bringing you a variety of fun pictures and videos. This week, we rewind the clock to May of 1991! Enjoy!
The Will Rogers Follies opened at the Palace Theatre on May 1st, 1991.
Directed and choreographed by Tommy Tune, the showed starred Keith Carradine, Dee Hoty, Dick Latessa, and Cady Huffman.
The show ran for nearly 1,000 performances and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards, winning six, including Best Musical.
It tells the story of vaudeville performer Will Rogers, who appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies 5 times.
