A whole new world will be welcomed back to Broadway on Tuesday, September 28! Aladdin resumes performances at Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre and is coming back with some new faces.
Michael Maliakel and Shoba Narayan join the company of Aladdin alongside returning long-time Genie, Michael James Scott, and Tony Award nominee Jonathan Freeman as Jafar, bringing to the stage the role he created in the animated film. The show also features Milo Alosi, Zach Bencal, and Brad Weinstock as Aladdin’s sidekicks Kassim, Babkak and Omar, JC Montgomery as Sultan, and Don Darryl Rivera as Iago.
It was previously announced that viewers on TikTok will be taken to a whole new world on September 28 at 8 p.m. EST, when the Broadway production of Aladdin will take viewers inside the theatre for a peek backstage during intermission, culminating in a live performance of “Friend Like Me” streamed on @disneyonbroadway account.
